Ink Self Portrait

This was a fun project. It pushed me out of my comfort zone. We got to pick out a page full of words from a music book or a book. We were told to pick a word that we could make a facial expression and show this word. I picked the word joy from my music sheet, and Mrs. Esitz took a  picture of me when I was laughing. This did a good job at showing joy. She then turned my picture black and white and toned it way down to see the black and white tones. Then using a light box traced my picture onto my music sheet and using a ink pen and ink traced and color and “shaded” my black areas and was left with a self portrait.

This was a super fun project and it really showed how much you can do. When first starting this project it seemed like it was gonna be super hard to make it look like me and that I wasn’t gonna like how I wanted to look. I was also scared that I would mess up an important part of  my face and then it wouldn’t look good at all. When we did our first practice it started to become way easier. We as a class got to see how the ink pens worked and wrote our names and practiced shading with them on four circles and made them 3D.
